In the 1950s, Sharma was born to an Indian army general and a lady of unspecified parentage. His father served in the headquarters of General Bahadur Shah before the revolution of 1911 and later became the governor of Chandigarh. When Sharma was very young, his father and his family left India and moved to India. In India, Sharma entered a private high school, after which he needed to get an education. Returning to India in 1948, Sharma was arrested again and, after 8 months in prison, had to spend the rest of his life in a secret KPIK camp until his father died in 1955. After the end of the war, Sharma returned to India and became an active member of the "Forward Forward" organization, which he hoped would help India develop through its own network.
